Operatives of the Abuja Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, arrested one Afolabi Samad, proprietor of a Yahoo Yahoo, Academy, located in Abuja.
The academy is located at Peace Court Estate, Lokogoma, a suburb of Abuja.
In statement by the Head, Media and Publicity, Wilson Uwujaren m, the EFC. said the 24-year-old, Yahoo Academy Proprietor, was arrested May 12, 2022, in a sting operation.
He was apprehended alongside 16 of his students, who were going through tutorials at the academy premises.
The youngsters- students studying advance fee fraud, otherwise known as 419, or Yahoo Yahoo, are between the ages of 18 and 27 years.
The proprietor of the alleged Academy rented the 3 bedroom flat for Three Million Naira to impact the tricks of cyber-frauds on his apprentices for undisclosed fees.
“Item recovered from the suspects include laptops, phones, charms and two vehicles: a Lexus RX350 and Toyota Highlander.
“The suspects will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.” The statement reads.
