EFCC Grilled Ex-Power Minister, Agunloye, As He Turns Himself In

Former minister of state for power, under ex-president Olusegun Obasanjo, Olu Agunloye, has reportedly turned himself to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

It was gathered that he is being interrogated by the operatives of the commission.

Last week, the EFCC, in placed advertorial in a newspaper declaring Agulonye wanted in connection with a $6 billion purported scam involving the contentious Mambilla hydropower project.

“The public is hereby notified that Olu Agunloye, whose photograph appears above, is wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in an alleged case of corruption and forgery.

The EFCC called the public with useful information as to his whereabouts” to contact the agency. 

Recall that the EFCC, in September 2023,  questioned the former minister over the same fraud issue.

Agunloye was a minister under President Olusegun Obasanjo’s government (1999-2003). He has been at the centre of the controversy about the Mambilla project.
