Detained Journalist, Adejuwon Soyinka Regains Freedom

News Investigators/ The West African Regional Editor of the Conversation Africa, Adejuwon Soyinka arrested by the Department of State Security Service (DSS) has been released.

Mr. Soyinka who arrived from the United Kingdom, through Virgin Atlantic flight was arrested on Sunday at about 5:40 a.m. at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos.

The former Editor of the BBC Pidgin Service was released following pressure from International Press Institutes (IPI) while his International Passport was seized.

No explanation was provided for Mr. Soyinka’s arrest and brief detention.
