The Governor of Anambra State, Prof Chukwuma Soludo is to travel out of the country to the UK this holiday.
Although there are strong speculations that the Governor was traveling out of the country to ‘rest’ a top aide of the Governor said that the Governor is traveling to the UK to see his family.
The source said that the Governor who has not been with his family since after the swearing in ceremony on March 17, 2017 is only going for a short visit.
The source said, “It is true that the Governor is traveling out of the country. However it is not true that he is going to ‘rest.’
“The fact is that the Governor’s family is in the UK and he is taking advantage of the Easter break to see the family.
“He is not traveling out of the State for a long time. He is expected back early next week.”
The former Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria was sworn-in on March 17, 2022.
Immediately Soludo was declared the winner of the November 6 governorship election last year, he jetted out of the country to London and was seen in a gym doing exercises in preparation for the huge task ahead.
After his inauguration on March 17, he took radical decisions like going to mark buildings in Okpoko, a suburb near Onitsha for demolition.
He is also battling the touts in Onitsha especially at the Upper Iweka area of the city.
He mustered the political will to dare the ‘agberos’ who have constituted a threat to the free business activities in the markets.
Soludo also moved into the forests and bushes to dislodge the ‘unknown gunmen’ who are kidnapping and maiming people and committing arson in the State,
The fleeing gunmen are said to be responsible for the burning of local government headquarters in the state.
For the past one month, Soludo has initiated some good moves awaiting to be translated into achievements.
However, a source told The Network that it would “be a little too early for the new Governor to go and rest.”
