Several people have been injured in an outbreak of violence at the famous Alaba International Market, Lagos.

It was learnt on Wednesday that the  traders at the market were battling members of members of the road transport workers over imposition of levies by Lagos State Parks and Garages

The bloody clash resulted in the hurried closure of shops by the traders who scampered to avoid being caught in the crisis.

Trending videos of the bloody clash shows hundreds of traders and hoodlums armed with dangerous weapons as they move to engage each other in the violence.

The Network gathered that leadership of the Lagos State Police Command promptly deployed Operatives of the Rapid Response Squad  and police from nearby formations to the areas to quell the crisis.

The Police Public Relations Officer in charge of the Lagos State Police Command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, a Superintendent of Police, said that calm has been restored in the area.

“Normalcy has been restored. @rrslagos767 and men of Ojo Division are on ground, under the supervision of Area Commander Festac, ACP Igbafe Afegbai. There is no cause for alarm as monitoring continues,” he tweeted.
