The home town of the Senate President, Ahmed Lawan, Abasha in Gashu’a has been bombed by suspected Boko Haram sect on Sunday evening, killing one person and injuring several others.
According to an eyewitness, one person died and several others, severely injured, and were rushed to a specialist hospital in the town.
It was gathered that IED explosions hit the Gashu’a, a town in Bade Local Government Area of Yobe State, at a drinking joint in the town while Muslim faithfuls were observing their evening prayers.
The incident occured late evening during prayer at 8pm, when the bomb exploded in the Abasha area.
Last week, Boko Haram terrorists killed 11 people in Geidam town.
The Yobe State Police Command is yet to confirm the incident.
