••• AS FG Drops One Charge against Detained IPOB Leader

The Court of Appeal in Abuja has reserved Judgment in the appeal filed by the leader of outlawed Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB) Nnamdi Kanu challenging the seven charges against him by the Federal Government.
Kanu had filed the appeal through his lawyer Mike Ozekhome. He is facing charges bordering on terrorism and treasonable felony.
Also the Federal Government has on Tuesday reduced one of the charges preferred against the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.
The hearing of the kanu’s application challenging the seven-count charge filed against him by the Federal Government was fixed for October 11, but was later brought forward to September 13 (Today).
Today’s proceeding at the Court of Appeal, which started by 10:15, saw Kanu’s legal team taking their appearance over charges of terrorism and treasonable felony against their client.
The Human Rights Lawyer, Mike Ozekhome (SAN), who leads the delegation of legal practitioners representing the IPOB leader, prayed the Court of Appeal, Abuja, to strike out the remaining charges citing lack of credibility.

The Appeal marked No: CA/ABJ/CR/ 625/2022; filed by the legal team is challenging the remaining seven-count against Kanu.
Recall that kanu was re-arraigned by the Federal government of President Mohammadu Buhari on an amended 15-count charge bordering on treasonable felony.
But on May 28, the trial judge, Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court Abuja, struck out eight of the 15-count charge.
