The Senator representing the Niger East Senatorial zone, Senator Sani Musa, on Friday, dismissed the purported consensus candidate arrangement of the All Progressive Congress, saying that the President has not endorsed any candidate.
Sani Musa is seeking the position of the National Chairmanship of the party in the March 26, National Convention of the APC.
According to Sani, the purported Consensus candidacy of Senator Abdullahi Adamu, was not true because the APC has started selling forms.
He queried the rationale behind the sale of forms, if they had agreed on consensus.
“Why did the party sell forms to us?” He queried.
“You sold forms to us. And as far as I’m concerned, there’s never been anybody that officially contacted me or any other aspirants.”
He said that Presidental Spokesperson, Mr Femi Adesina, had said it that their was no endorsement.
“So, we want a vibrant leadership. We want leadership that will change the status quo. What are we talking about? The endorsement I want is your endorsement. I want the endorsement of 43 million APC members. That is what I need”. He stated.
Sani said if elected the chairman of the party, it will mark a new beginning for the APC.
Geb stressed that there will be transitional changes and that he was going to bring digitization into the APC.
He said he wants a cohesive, focused and directional leadership that will build bridges and concession between all the dividing organs of the APC.
“I’m looking forward to this convention on 26 March and on that day there will be a new beginning in the APC in which their will be a transitional change. We will bring digitization into the APC.
“To be cohesive, the APC needs a leadership that will bring direction. The APC needs a leader that will be able to build concession between all dividing organs.” He disclosed.
The Senator, promised to build a party which is have symbiotic relationship with the governors.
“We want to see a party that will become an institution in Africa. APC is the largest party and all we need to do is to put the structure. That is, the political parties need to be very strong.”
“We have a democracy in this country that has a very strong foundation but what we are lacking is the leadership that will be able to transform our party structure to what it should be.”
Senator Sani explained that he would build a political platform that will groom leaders.
“That is what I’m bringing new to APC. And APC will not be dependent on anybody to fund it. With the number of 43 million membership, we have no business going cap in hand to beg anybody for money. That is what I’m bringing to APC”, he submitted.
