Anambra Lawmakers Postpone Sitting Over Kidnap of Member

Fear has allegedly gripped Anambra State legislators over the kidnap of their colleague, Hon. Okoye Okechukwu, representing Aguata constituency 2, in the State House of Assembly.

Consequently, the lawmakers postponed their sitting billed for Tuesday until further notice.

The lawmaker, Hon Okechukwu, was said to have been driving in his black Sienna car when he was trailed and kidnapped by a yet to be identified armed men in the morning of last Sunday.

Reacting to the ugly incident, a lawmaker representing Onitsha North constituency 2, Hon. Edward Ibuzor said that he felt sad over the incident.

“I feel like I am the one that is kidnapped, because of this we have postponed our sitting that we are supposed to have tomorrow being Tuesday”

“He hails from Uga and is representing Aguata constituency 2 in the state House of Assembly and was kidnapped about 8am on Sunday while driving in his black Sienna car”

As at the time of filing this report, the where-abouts of the lawmaker has not been established even as frantic effort is being made by the lawmakers to get him released.
