Alia Issues Resignation Deadline For Appointees Seeking Slective Positions

News Investigators/ Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia, has given March 30 as a deadline for his appointees seeking elective positions in the 2027 general elections to resign from their positions.

Mr Alia’s deadline was conveyed in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Tersoo Kula, and made available to newsmen in Makurdi on Saturday.

The governor expressed his administration’s determination to maintain the tempo of development in the state and would not want anyone to delay any process that would give results to that effect.

He emphasised that the earlier those who want to resign tender the resignation letters, the better, as it will give him a clear direction to get other hands that will fill the position for continuation.

“I invite all people of good conscience to join hands with me so that we can make Benue a place that attracts everybody.

“When you see earthmoving machines working on our hitherto dilapidated roads, that is development. When you see civil servants going to work and closing happily, that is development.

“I have started, I am midway, and I am more determined to do more because that was my covenant with the Benue people. I cannot tender apologies to anyone because I am developing Benue.

“My covenant was with the people. My attention is on how to make them happy. How to rewrite the story of the state for good.

“Therefore, nothing can deter me; nobody can frustrate me to abandon this,” he said.
