ADC Pledges Inclusive Leadership, Vows To Tackle Insecurity

News Investigators/ The Interim National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), David Mark, has assured supporters and Nigerians that the party would build a sustainable economy and tackle insecurity.

The ADC Interim National Chairman also pledged inclusivity in the party’s affairs.

Mr Mark gave this assurance during the party’s inauguration on Wednesday in Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.

Represented by his Chief of Staff, Suleiman Adokwe, Mr Mark announced that ADC had expanded the Beijing ‘Accord’, increasing women’s representation from 35 per cent to 40 per cent.

He explained that young people were also carried along, as many held leadership positions within the party’s national working committee.

Mr Mark said ADC’s primary motive was to hold government accountable and ensure INEC conducts free, fair, credible, and transparent elections across the country.

“I congratulate you for joining ADC. It is a coalition of notable parties such as APC, PDP, Zenith Labour Party, and many others,” he stated.

He added: “Nigeria’s political environment is drifting towards a one-party system. As Africa’s largest democracy, we cannot afford dictatorship or one-party dominance.

“Democracy requires credible opposition. ADC is established as a platform to ensure that the democratic journey begun in 1999 remains firmly guaranteed.”

Also speaking, Mohammed Abdullahi, former Minister of Environment, said ADC was built on integrity and would change the narrative of Nigeria’s political landscape.

He noted that Nigerians desire genuine change that would impact their lives and livelihoods, having endured hardship for too long.

Mr Abdullahi assured supporters that ADC would work tirelessly to address insecurity and provide affordable healthcare and education for citizens.

“What we are doing here is mobilising the grassroots to take steps towards securing our mandate. Today marks the beginning of a national process,” he declared.

“Integrity is our watchword. From national to state level, leadership will be built on integrity. Our politics will be inclusive and people-driven,” he assured.

Other party leaders who spoke included ADC Nasarawa State Chairman, Mr Williams Alaku, and State Women Leader, Mrs Alice Ishaku. Both urged members to sustain support ahead of 2027 elections.
