News Investigators/ A support group for President Bola Tinubu, the Progressive Mandate Forum (PMF), has tasked its members with intensifying grassroots mobilisation across Ondo State ahead of the 2027 General Elections.
The Chairman of the forum, Demola Ijabiyi, gave the charge during the inauguration of the forum’s local government chapters across the state on Wednesday in Akure.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the inauguration took place in all the 18 Local Government Areas of the state.
Mr Ijabiyi said members must strengthen their presence at the ward and polling unit levels to mobilise support for Tinubu’s re-election and the victory of All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates in the elections.
He said the forum set a target of delivering one million votes for Tinubu in Ondo State, and urged each local government chapter to develop a practical mobilisation plan based on its registered voter population and polling unit distribution.
The chairman also challenged the chapters to work towards an 80 per cent voter turnout in their respective local governments, identifying low participation as a major electoral challenge.
He urged members to expand the forum’s membership by reaching out to community associations, friends, neighbours and other willing supporters.
According to him, effective grassroots engagement must include voter education, regular community meetings, encouragement for eligible citizens to register as voters while registration is available, and to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).
“Ward coordinators will organise grassroots activities and report progress, while local government and ward overseers will monitor implementation and ensure accountability.
“The forum’s local government chapters have selected their presiding officers, secretaries and ward coordinators, so ward and polling unit meetings will hold at least twice monthly.
“PMF, sponsored by Dr Bunmi Tunji-Ojo, will sustain its activities beyond the 2027 general elections, particularly towards the 2028 governorship election in the state.
“Members should work in unity and cooperate with recognised APC structures to achieve our forum’s objectives,” he said.
