The Governor of State, Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, has denied media reports that he has accepted to be running mate to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar in the 2023 Presidential election.

Wike said that the members of the People’s Democratic Party from the Southern part of the country would make a collective decision on the 2023 election at the right time.

Wike who described the report as a product of propaganda said that he had not discussed any such issue concerning 2023 with anybody.

The Rivers State Governor spoke during a PDP stakeholders meeting on Tuesday at the Government House, Port Harcourt.

He said: “Forget about the propaganda and posters you’re seeing on social media. I have not said that I want to run for any office and even if I want to run, nobody can stop me.

“I have not discussed to be vice to anybody and nobody is vice to me. All those things are speculations and imaginations of those who are afraid of us.”

Wike enjoyed those aspiring to be the governorship candidate of the PDP to wait for the right time to commence politicking saying it is too early now.

“Those of you who are interested in the governorship of Rivers State should calm down first, it’s still early. Let INEC get done with the electoral amendment Bill and let our party bring guidelines.”
