VOTER SUPPRESSION ROCKS OKOTA, LAGOS

There is widespread voter suppression in parts of Lagos especially areas considered heavily dominated by the Igbo and non Yoruba voters.

Hoodlums believed to be working for a particular political party attacked a polling unit Waheed Akande polling unit, Ago, Palace Way, Okota, Lagos and disrupted the process.

The INEC personnel battled the Hoodlums to retrieve the BVAS machines from the rampaging hoodlums.

The Network gathered that the hoodlums struck while the INEC personnel were configuring the machine. 

The people are protesting that it is an attempt to disenfranchise them 

A voter identified as Chinedu told journalists that, the INEC  officials  retrieved  the BVAS, while the thugs  vandalized cars belonging to voters in the area.

“INEC should give us the right to vote. 

All of us are here to vote. The security agents pursued the hoodlums. Many people have gone home because of the threat.The Inec personnel are still being expected.” He said

At the Polling Unit 022, at Oshodi/Isolo Oke Afa  the voters resisted the Hoodlums and were spoiling for confrontation with the thugs who scattered the voting materials.

Also Residents of Onireke Opposite Ojo cantonment Lagos state have taken to the streets to protest against APC thuggery. 

So many residents besieged the streets chanting ‘we must vote’ while  security operatives helplessly.
