Gov. Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra state has condemned the attack by gunmen in his community, Isuofia, Aguata Local Goverment Area of the state, describing it as “unfortunate and highly irresponsible”.
The governor commended the gallantry of the security operatives for successfully repelling the hoodlums while commiserating with those who sustained injuries.
In a statement, the Head, Soludo Media Office, Mr Joe Anatune, said, “What actually transpired was that a new Police Observation Point mounted along Ekwulobia expressway was attacked late hours of Thursday, April 14.
Sọludo directed the security’ agencies to go after the hoodlums and ensure they are apprehended to face the full wrath of the law.
He appealed to the people to remain calm and go about their legitimate activities as the government is doing everything possible to tackle the spate of insecurity being witnessed in the state of late.
Anambra state has been under siege in recent time with many people killed or injured and some local government headquarters burnt down by the hoodlums.
