The men of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested a couple for being in possession of fresh human body parts in Abeokuta Ogun State.
The couple are Mr Kehinde Oladimeji, 43 and his wife Mrs Adejumoke Raji, 35.
They were caught with fresh human breasts, hands, and others , in their residence at 72, MKO Abiola way, Leme, in Abeokuta,
The Police Public Relations Officer of the Command, Mr. Abimbola Oyeyemi, said in a statement on Saturday that the couple were reported at Kemta Divisional Headquarters by the Baale of Leme Community, Moshood Ogunwolu.
The Baale was said to have told the police that a Pastor, Adisa Olarenwaju, a co-tenant of the suspected ritualists drew his attention to an odour from the apartment of the couple.
Oyeyemi said that the Divisional Police Officer CSP Adeniyi Adekunle led operatives to storm the residence where the body parts were recovered.
The PPRO in the statement said that the suspected ritualists claimed that they got the body parts from one Michael who resides at Adatan area of the city.
The Police Spokesman said that the people had not been able to apprehend the said Michael because the couple who claimed to be herbalists couldn’t locate his house.
The PPPRO who said that a dismembered body was found in a swamp at Leme Area of Abeokuta about three weeks ago said that it was not clear whether the body parts were those of that person.
He said that the State Commissioner of Police, Mr Lanre Bankole, has given an order that the suspects be transferred immediately to the Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigation Department.
