The Commissioner of Police, FCT, Command CP Babaji Sunday, has dispelled reports on Wednesday, that terrorists have invaded the Kubwa area of Abuja, assuring the residents that the reports are false.
Babaji Sunday, urged the residents not to believe the rumours but should go on their duties without panic.
He called on them to disregard the news of bandit invasion in Kubwa.
The FCT Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Josephine Adeh, in a statement in Abuja, described the news as a misleading and false.
There was the report that bandits raided Pipeline Extension area in Kubwa and dispossessed residents of their belongings.
“The Command, therefore, wishes to categorically refute this erroneous and misleading news and state, emphatically that it is baseless and unfounded.
“It is promulgated with the malicious intention to instill fear and apprehension in the minds of residents and the good people of FCT,” she said.
According to her, the CP pleaded with the residents to discontinue the propagation of the news and go about their lawful businesses without fear of harassment or molestation
Adeh called on the residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious or abnormal occurrence to the Police through 08032003913, 08061581938, 07057337653 and 08028940883.
