Strong indications have emerged that about three hundred inmates of the Kuje Medium Prison were released in the late night Terrorists’ siege on the facility.
The prison facility came under massive attack around 10:27 pm on Tuesday from terrorism wielding high caliber assault weapons and bomb explosions.
The Network reported that the suspected terrorists invaded the facility from the back and operated for hours.
The Kuje Correctional Centre is where former House of Representatives member, Farouk Lawan, DCP Abba Kyari, former Taraba Governor Jolly Nyame and many high profile Nigerians are being held.
There are reports quoting the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Interior, Shuaibu Belgore, as saying that 600 inmates escaped from the facility while 300 were recaptured.
