OSINACHI: FCT POLICE COMMAND ARRESTS HUSBAND

…COMMENCES INVESTIGATION INTO SUSPECTED HOMICIDE

Operatives of the FCT Command of the Nigeria Police Force have arrested Mr Peter Nwachukwu, the husband of the late gospel singer, Osinachi Nwachukwu.

The husband is being accused of being responsible for her death.

Osinachi, 42, who died last Friday at an Abuja hospital was a lead singer at the Dunamis International Church.

Shortly after after death, allegations emerged on social media that she died of domestic violence.

There are allegations which were later confirmed by Osinachi’s elder sister that the husband kicked her in the chest which led to her been taken to the hospital.

Gospel Artiste, Edwin Alex claimed (reportedly) that she died of throat cancer, but another singer Frank Edwards put up an insinuating post that ‘an unreasonable human’ caused the death of the singer.

Findings by The Network shows that the police from the Lugbe Division waded into the matter on Sunday after the younger brother of the deceased complained that the singer died of domestic violence.

Following the controversy over her death, the President of the Fellowship of Gospel Music Ministers of Nigeria, Asu Ekiye, called for the immediate arrest of the husband to ensure proper investigation into the touchy issue.

He gospel singers and ministers across Nigeria to await the outcome of the autopsy on the late gospel artiste Osinachi Nwachukwu.

Ekiye, a popular award winning gospel artiste urged FOGGMON members to refrain from making further comments on the death of Osinachi which has become controversial until investigation is concluded with an autopsy report.

He urged the gospel artistes conduct themselves in a manner that would not subvert the investigation.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Josephine Adeh, confirmed the arrest of the later singer’s husband to the media.

“He is now in our custody. The younger brother of the deceased reported the matter and we have commenced investigation.”
