From Attah Ede, Makurdi
The immediate past Governor of Benue State, Chief Samuel Ortom, has congratulated the Senator representing Benue South Senatorial District, Abba Moro, on his emergence as Senate Minority Leader.
Chief Ortom described Senator Moro’s choice as well deserved, considering his track record of selfless service to the people over the years.
He said the commitment of Senator Moro to represent the people of Benue South Senatorial District has been exemplary, and there is no doubt that he will continue to serve with integrity, wisdom and passion in his new position as the Minority Leader of the Senate.
“Senator Moro’s wealth of experience and deep understanding of the issues facing our nation makes him eminently qualified for this important leadership role.
“As he takes on the new responsibility, I am confident that he will continue to be a strong advocate for the interests of the minority and other Nigerians, a unifying force within the Senate and a champion for the principles of democracy and good governance.”
In a statement, Ortom’s Media Aide, Terver Akase, quotes his Principal as joining numerous other well-wishers, in praying that God guides Senator Moro on his new assignment.
It will be recalled that senator Moro was elected into the Senate in 2015 and 2023 after senator David Mark, represented Benue South Senatorial district from 1999 to 2015, on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party.
Before election into the Senate, Moro was chairman of Okpokwu local Government Council in Benue state and was later appointed as Minister of Interior in the then regime of president Goodluck Jonathan.
