NEMA Confirms Two Dead in A’Ibom Building Collapse

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has confirmed two persons as the total casualty figure in yesterday building collapse in  Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.

The four storey building under construction said to be an hotel collapse at Iman Street by Nse Ntip, off Aka road in Uyo on Saturday.

The Regional Manager of NEMA, Mr Godwin Topikor, who confirmed the casuality figure on Sunday in Uyo, said one of the deceased died during the collapse, while one out of four rescued persons died in the hospital. 

Akwa Ibom State Government had earlier set up a panel of enquiry to look into the cause of the building collapse and directed the Commissioner for Health to immediately take over the management of the survivors.
