Kidnapped Abuja-Based Journalist Regains Freedom in Imo

An Abuja-based journalist who was kidnapped in Abia State, Chuks Onuoha, has been released in Imo State.

Mrs Onuoha, wife of the journalist, said that he was released in the early hours of Saturday.

However, she was silent on whether ransoms was paid and how much was paid before he was released.

Onuoha a former Umuahia Correspondent of the Sun Newspaper was abducted in his country home of Umungasi, Ohuhu Umuahia around 10 pm on Tuesday.

The wife said that Onuoha pleaded with some people for help when he was released and was taken to a location where the members of his family picked him up.

The President General of Ohuhu Welfare Union, the home community of the journalist, Sir Obi Aguocha, thanked everybody who prayed and showed concern when the journalist was in custody of the kidnappers.

Aguocha urged the people of the community to be security at all time.
