The immediate past Commissioner of Education, Hon Jonathan Robinson Obuebite, has declared for the Nembe-Brass Federal constituency of Bayelsa State in the 2023, National Assembly elections.
The erudite scholar and politician declared his ambition to represent the good people of Nembe/Brass Federal Constituency under the platform of the ruling People’s Democratic Party in the House of Representatives in 2023 on Thursday.
Obuebite, a two term lawmaker of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly presented himself before the Nembe PDP caucus led by Chief Eluan Blessing Epigansi-Izagara.
He promised quality representation to the people of Nembe/Brass Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
The constituents, including youths and other stakeholders, turned out in large numbers to receive him with joy during the presentation.
The people of Nembe/Brass Federal Constituency described his declaration as a dream that has come to reality noting that his wealth of experience, especially as a former lawmaker in the State, will benefit the people.
They added that with Hon. Obuebite as their representative, the era of docility is over. According to them, “we have waited for a long for his declaration. Now our joy knows no bound”.
“The people of Nembe/Brass Federal Constituency are one. This is going to be an added advantage for the Nembe/Brass, for Hon. Obuebite and PDP
“What we are after is quality representation. We have seen this in no other person but in Hon. Obuebite. Give it to him. No controversy. Obuebite is our choice in Nembe/Federal Constituency.”
According to them, Hon. Obuebite has done it before, as a State lawmaker and former Chief Whip, adding that he would do it again as a Federal member and therefore deserves a Chance.
“When the big masquerade enters the arena, small masquerades take cover. Obuebite, a game-changer, Grassroot mobilizer, other masquerades has come. The smaller masquerades know what steps to take – leave the road.”
They called all the people of Nembe/Brass Federal Constituency to vote wisely for Obuebite and PDP,
Hon. Obuebite had served Bayelsa State and PDP in various capacities which include; Chief Whip, Chairman and member of various committees in the State House of Assembly, where he served two tenures.
He was previously a Senior Special Assistant on State Capital Development to late Chf. D.S.P. Alamieyeseigha, Special Adviser on Youths and Government House Transport and Logistics to Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.
He was once appointed Director of Media and Publicity Restoration Campaign Organization that returned the former Governor Hon. Henry Seriake Dickson for a second term as Governor.
As a result of his performance, Obuebite was appointed Commissioner of Information and Orientation and later Commissioner for Education, to former Governor Henry Seriake Dickson.
He also served as Director of Media and Publicity, Prosperity Campaign Organization that was used in the “Miracle Governor”, Senator Douye Diri’ election.
He is currently serving as the Special Adviser on Investment to the “Prosperity Administration”.
