There is confusion in Imo State over the reported abduction of 15 youths from Ekwe Community of Isu Local Government Area of the State on Saturday.
Some masked men villagers suspect to be members of the Ebube Agu Security outfit were said to have stormed Ekwe Community and abducted 15 young men from the community.
The reason for the abduction of the innocent youths is still unknown.
The heavily armed gunmen were said to have rounded up the 15 young men who were excavating sand at Njaaba River and took them to an unknown destination.
The Network gathered that the gun men were looking for more captives after taking the 15 youths.
The police authorities in Imo State could not confirm the the abduction of the 15 youths of Ekwe community to the Network.
The Spokesman of the Command, Mr Michael Abatham, told our correspondent that nobody has reported any such incident to the police.
He stated however that the Area Command had been notified to find out if such an incident occurred in the area.
“We have not officially receive any report on the incident you are referring to.
“Nobody has given us information but even at that, the area commander has been contacted to find out if any such thing happened.
“Since the incident was said to have happened in the morning , no family member of the said abducted 15 persons have approached the police to lodge any complaints,” he said
