EASTER: ANAMBRA CP ASSURES OF ADEQUATE SECURITY

Anambra State Police Command has assured the residents of the state of  adequate security during the Easter festival in the State.


The Commissioner of Police in the state, Echeng Eworo Echeng, charged the people of the state to sustain efforts with the Police in fighting crime.


The CP, on Thursday, in Awka in a meeting with Commanders, Heads of Tactical Units, Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) and Heads of Departments (HODs) across the Command charged them to be on the alert and be security responsive so as to prevent any untoward situation in their areas.


“I urge you to put in place all necessary security measures to ensure a secure, peaceful and incident-free celebration throughout the Easter season and beyond.


“The Command’s officers are enjoined to, amongst other things, carry out confidence  building and crime prevention patrols on major highways, residential and industrial areas, vulnerable points, places of worship, other places of public resort and around all critical national infrastructure.” He said.


He also directed that personnel being deployed must be professional and mindful of the fundamental rights of the citizens, and discharge their responsibilities with all sense of decorum and vigilance.


Echeng,  assured  that the men of the Command were ready to tackle security challenges during festive period.


He tasked the people of Anambra to emulate and adopt the selfless lifestyle of Christ as they join other Christians around the globe to celebrate Easter- the victorious death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
He pleaded with them to help in improving public safety and security across the state.


According to the CP, the command is also collaborating with other security agencies and stakeholders within the State to provide adequate security and safety in this regard.


The CP wished Anambra people a happy, fruitful and hitch-free Easter Celebration, while enjoining them to be security conscious and continue to provide the Police with useful information that could assist to effectively track down criminal elements in the society.
