Democracy Day Fall: “I Had A Swagger, It Was ‘Idobale’ For Democracy, Says Tinubu

News Investigators/ President Bola Tinubu Wednesday made a joke of the minor fall he had while mounting the parade vehicle at the Eagle Square on Democracy Day, describing as ‘Idobale’ for democracy.”

Mr. Tinubu, in an apparent reaction to a trending video that has elicited different comments on social media jocularly described the slip as “idobale” for democracy, a colloquial reference to Yoruba way of greeting in reverence, meaning that he had prostrated for democracy.

Recall that the President had a mistep while climbing the presidential vehicle at Eagles Square Abuja, resulting in a minor fall.

Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president candidate in the last election, in a post on his X handle had derisively commented, saying he hoped all was well with the president.

But Mr. Tinubu, at a State Banquet held at the Presidential Villa, Wednesday evening, made a joke of it.

“Early this morning, I had a swagger and it’s on the social media. They were confused about whether I was doing Buga or doing babariga, But, It is a day to celebrate democracy while doing “Idobale” for the day, he retorted during the state Banquet Dinner at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
