As Adelabu, Akintola shun Primary Election

Controversy has trailed the emergence of Senator Teslim Folarin as the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the with the absence of the two leading aspirants at the Liberty Stadium, Ibadan venue of the event.
Chief Adebayo Adelabu and Barrister Niyi Akintola (SAN) were absent at the venue while Hakeem Alao, Dr. Azeez Adeduntan, Akeem Agbaje and Dr. Azeez Adeduntan staged a workout before the announcement of the result.
The a aggrieved aspirants accused the party’s National Secretariat of presenting doctored delegates lists.
Barrister Akintola has appealed the conduct of the party primary election, warning that if necessary steps are not taken, this may signal the end of APC in Oyo state
He argued that the primary election conducted on Friday at the Liberty Stadium, Ibadan contravened the party guidelines and Electoral Acts as amended
He submitted that the election was scheduled for Thursday not Friday.
However, the absence of the two leading aspirants could not stop the election from being held, as their images appeared on the ballot papers.
Announcing the result, the Returning Officer Dr. Abdulahi Guso said Senator Folarin polled 954 votes to emerge as the candidate of the party.
Chief Adebayo Adelabu scored 327 votes, Barrister Niyi Akintola 0 vote, Hakeem Alao 6 votes, Akeem Agbaje 15 votes and Dr. Azeez Adeduntan 2 votes.
In an interview with the newsmen shortly after his declaration as the winner of the contest, Senator Folarin dedicated his victory to his late wife Angela.
We worked very hard to achieve this feat. It is not an easy task. Kudos to my team.
I also, thanked the delegates for their resilience. The election was supposed to hold yesterday but for security reason it was postponed till today.
APC has won. Democracy has won. I will visit and reconcile with other aspirants. It is a joint task
