BREAKING: Rivers Govt Commences Demolition Assembly Complex for Reconstruction 

The Rivers State Government has commenced the demolition of the State House of Assembly complex.

The Government stated that the decision to demolish the complex was as a result of the need to reconstruct the facility following a fire incident there. 

As of the time of filing this report, the  demolition of the Assembly building located along Moscow Road, Port Harcourt City Local Government Area, was ongoing.

The Network gathered that the about ten bulldozers and other heavy equipment were deployed for the exercise which commenced around 5am.

The Assembly complex was burnt down in the wake of the political crisis between Governor Simi Fubara and the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, his predecessor which factionalized the Assembly.
