Bayelsa Vigilante nabs 46yrs old suspected ritualist in Yenagoa

The men of the Bayelsa State Vigilante Service have arrested a 46 years old suspected ritualist, Ebere Nwosu, in Yenagoa.

The suspected ritualist was apprehended while trying to lure three minors along the Tombia-Etegwe Roundabout axis of the state capital,Yenagoa.

The suspect, Ebere Nwosu who denied the allegation has been handed to the anti-kidnapping Unit of the Nigeria Police Force of the Bayelsa Command for further investigation.

The Network gathered that the suspect was arrested by the men of the Vigilance group who observed his suspicious conduct while interacting three kids hawking sachet water.

It was gathered that Nwosu was having a queer discussion with the minors while making repeating calls to an unknown person by 5pm on Tuesday.

The operative gave the names of the children targeted by the suspected ritualists as Rejoice Efe, 11yrs and Success Obaru; 12yrs from Delta State.

The operative said that when confronted about what he was doing with the kids, the suspect attempted to flee but was apprehended by the vigilante.

The Chairman Vigilante Service, Hon. Doubiye Alagba confirmed that the suspect had kept the three minors busy suspiciously for several minutes when his men who became suspicious intervened and arrested him.

“It was at the point he was making several calls while discussing with the three minors that we quickly asked one of our men to approach him.

“When he was approached by our member, he attempted to escape but was caught after a hot chase.

“At first the suspect claimed that he was a native of Rivers State, but after investigation, he later revealed his real identity that he is from Imo State.”

One of the girls, Rejoice Efe, narrated what transpired between them and the suspect.

“We were hawking along the road only for this uncle to call us to buy water from us. We ran towards him to sell water to him but he started talking first to my sister and asked me to wait.”

He made several calls and we became scared and insisted that if he was not buying the water again, he should allow us to leave.”

“But he kept telling us to wait and that he likes us and will like to take care of us. We became more scared and it was at that point that, one uncle came and asked him what he was telling us and he immediately started running and they caught him”.
