The Diocese on the Niger, Anglican Communion, has confirmed the suspension and withdrawal of the ordination license of Rev. Canon Lumen Christi Eboh, over alleged immorality and other acts of indiscipline.
The church leadership observed that his conduct lowers him and the church before the eyes of responsible members of the public.
The leadership of the church said that Rev. Eboh made himself a tin god contrary to his mandate to be a role model as a servant of God with the calling to draw souls to Jesus Christ.
Deputy Chancellor/Registrar of the Diocese on the Niger, Anglican Communion, Ben Uzuegbu, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) stated this during a press conference in Awka, the Anambra state capital.
Uzuegbu accused Rev Eboh of alleged indulgence in immoral acts with women.
He added that several petitions and complaints were brought against the cleric while he held sway in the Anglican community in the state.
According to Uzuegbu, the embattled Eboh impregnated a lady who approached him for prayers and spiritual healing in addition to fraudulent activities.
He said that Eboh’s activities were marked by lack of accountability while served as a clergy of the Anglican Church.
Uzuegbu stated that Rev Eboh refused to appear before a panel set up by the church to look into complaints and petitions against him aimed at resolving the issue.
He stated further that despite several invitations and visit to him by members of the panel, the suspended reverend chose to go to the press on the day the panel submitted its report to the leadership of the church.
He alleged further since Rev. Eboh left the communion without giving account of his stewardship, there was no way anyone could give details of how much he is owing the church.
Recall that Rev Canon LumenCristi Eboh, had announced his resignation from office as a priest of the Anglican Communion in Anambra State, penultimate week.
Eboh has alleged that some forces in the church had caused his wife to leave him, and quartered her at an undisclosed place.
He also accused the diocesan Bishop, Owen Nwokolo of alleged witch-hunt, intimidation and land grabbing.
Eboh who owns a charismatic congregation and prayer ministry known as God in Action Adoration Ministry alleged that the bishop wanted to take his (Eboh’s) personal land where his ministry is located .
He cited harassment, instigation and conspiracy by the diocesan authourities of the Anglican Diocese on the Niger, especially from Bishop Owen Nwokolo, as reasons for his resignation.
