Anambra State Commissioner of Police, Echeng Eworo Echeng, has urged traditional rulers in the state as custodian of culture to help to promote national interest.
“Use your positions to open channels of communications with your subjects in order to support the security agencies in the fight against crimes and criminality in the state,” Echeng said.
The commissioner made the plea at the weekend when he visited Obi Onitsha, Igwe Alfred Achebe, who is also the Chairman Anambra State Traditional Rulers Council in his palace.
The police boss also called for a honest and patriotic involvement in identifying differences and prioritizing goals in order to develop deliberate plans to address challenges facing the state.
Responding, the traditional ruler assured of their collaboration to enhance public safety and peace.
In attendance were the palace Chief of Staff, Chikezie Ogbunike, the President General of Onitsha, DCP Peter Ozigi, ACP John Obuagnaka among others.
