AFCON: Tinubu confers national honours on Super Eagles

President Bola Tinubu has conferred on the Super Eagles team, the prestigious national honor of Member of the Order of the Niger (MON) for their outstanding performance at the just concluded AFCON 2023 tournament in Côte d’Ivoire.

Also, the Super Eagles were awarded one flat and a plot of land each in the Federal Capital Territory.

Nigeria came second in the highly electrified tournament

The Eagles lost the trophy to the hosts, Ivory Coast.

The Nigerian team were received at the State House on Tuesday where they were conferred with the titles.

All the team members and officials were m present including Alex Iwobi, who came under cyber-attacks over the unfortunate loss to the Elephants.
