A human Rights Activist, Comrade Deji Adeyanju, has called on President Muhammadu Buhari and leadership of the All Progressives Congress, (APC) to give a chance to the South to produce the next president in 2023.

Adeyanju decried what he described as marginalization of Igbos in the leadership equation of the Country.

Adeyanju, in an open letter to President Buhari said the agitators of Yoruba presidency are not fair to the Igbos.

He argued, since 1999, the Yorubas have occupied the office of the President and Vice President for 15 years.

He said further that his ethnic Yoruba stock also been Speaker of the House of Representatives for 8 years noting that it will amount to a great injustice if a Yoruba person were to succeed President in office.

Deji says that such an arrangement would mean that the Yoruba would have been President for a period even more than the entire Northern Nigeria since our return to democratic governance in 1999.

He added that if given the opportunity to succeed President Buhari in 2023, an Igbo Presidency would change the economic tide of the Country.

“The Igbos are known for their business acumen. An Igbo presidential candidate will be able to repair our badly damaged economy and continue the path of restoration that you have started.

Adeyanju stated that election of Igbo candidate in 2023 would address the issue of political imbalance in the Country.
