The Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, has said that it would take a miracle for the Labour Party to win the 2023 Presidential election.

Atiku said while speaking on Arise TV on Friday, that the chances of the Labour Party winning the election are slim going by the fact that the party has no structure with no governors or lawmakers.

Atiku said that while the followers of the Presidential Candidate of the LP, Peter Obi claimed that they have one million votes in Osun, that did not translate into votes for the party’s candidate in the election.

He said, “I really don’t expect the Labour Party to take much votes from the PDP as people are speculating.

“They have no structure at all levels, with no governor, and lawmakers.

“It will take a miracle for Labour Party with no structure in the grassroots to win the election.

“They had said through the social media they have one million votes in Osun State but how many votes do they have in real life?

“In the northern part of the country, about 90 per cent of people don’t have access to the social media. Most of the electorate are not on social media.”

The former Vice President said he became aware of Obi’s resignation from the PDP three days after he left the party.

Atiku added that his former running mate in the 2019, presidential election, didn’t consult him before he left the party.

“Peter Obi never consulted me before he left the PDP. He only told me about it three days after he left the party and joined the Labour Party” Atiku said.

Peter Obi dumped his former PDP before the 2023 presidential primary of the PDP and joined the Labour Party, where he picked the Party’s Presidential candidate for the 2023 presidential election.

According to Atiku, who also spoke on his purported rejection of the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, as his running mate, said that ‘rejection’ was strong a word to qualify his decision.

“He is a very courageous person who has a bright future in the political evolution of the country

“The Committee recommended three names to me. There was no voting. And out of the three nominees, I choose one of them,” he said
