Daredevil terrorists have killed 11 soldiers of the Nigerian Army during an attack a Military Base in Polwire Community, Birni Gwari, Kaduna.
The Network gathered that about 27 to 30 soldiers were also wounded in the battle with the terrorists which lasted over two hours on Monday.
The Army was said to have lost some arms and ammunition to the insurgents and some military hardware were destroyed.
Investigation revealed that the terrorists on motor bikes wielding high caliber weapons, RPG and grenades attacked the military base from different directions.
A source who confided in the Network said that the soldiers put up a great fight and held back the insurgents without any indications to withdraw until an expected turn in the field of battle.
The source said that while the soldiers fought valiantly and defended the base, the terrorists fired at the heavy military tank from behind making it to explode into the base.
The Network learnt that the wounded soldiered were moved to the Birni Gwari General Hospital and the 44 Nigerian Army Reference Hospital, Kaduna.
Those who were killed in the unfortunate attack were taken to the Mortuary of the Nigerian Army Reference hospital.
