PPDC Hasn’t Lost Funding Due To Governance Issues, We Remain Operational -Official

News Investigators/ The Public and Private Development Centre (PPDC), a leading Nigerian governance and justice-sector reform organisation, has faulted reports that its operations were negatively impacted by the suspension of foreign aid announced by United States President, Donald Trump.

In a statement by Head of Communications and Knowledge Management, Nnenna Eze, made available to News Investigators, the organization said it has not lost funding due to any compliance, governance, or performance issues.

It said Mr. Trump’s decision has not significantly disrupted its operations and forced it to lay off workers as widely reported earlier.

Mrs Eze said  media reports titled “Trump’s Foreign Aid Freeze Hits PPDC Operations” which quoted its Chief Executive Officer, Lucy Abagi was rather misleading and does not accurately reflect PPDC’s operational status, and risks creating the impression that PPDC’s work has been severely disrupted or compromised.

According to the statement, “the temporary sic (operational) adjustments referenced relate to a sector-wide aid pause affecting multiple organisations and limited to specific project components.

“PPDC remains operational and continues implementing priority programmes,” Mrs Eze added.
