Prominent Yoruba monarch the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi III, is dead.
The Network has it on good authority that the monarch died at the Afe Babalola Teaching Hospital, Ado-Ekiti.
A source said that the hospital authority immediately released the corpse which arrived Oyo on Saturday morning
Palaces sources that his eldest son, Prince Tunde, and others children received the remains at Idi-Igba
It was gathered that the foremost monarch had gone to the hospital for routine medical check-up when he died.
The 83 year old monarch born on October 15, 1938 ruled for 52 years.
The flamboyant octogenarian monarch married 13 wives.
He married his last wife, Chioma, an Igbo woman in 2020.
He is the first Alaafin to pick wife from outside Yoruba land.
The widows he left behind are his new wife, Lamidi Adeyemi now has 13 wives. They are Abibat, Rahmat Adedayo, Mujidat, Rukayat,Folashade, Badirat Ajoke, Memunat Omowunmi,Omobolanle , Moji Anuoluwapo and Damilola.
