News Investigators/ The Police Command in Niger, on Friday says it has detained for prosecution two suspects, ages, 43, and 45, from Kwangila area of Minna, Niger.
The command’s Public Relations officer, SP Wasiu Abiodun, in a statement in Minna, stated that there detention was to investigate the alleged burglary allegation against them.
“On April 30, at about 11:45 hours, Police operatives attached to Chanchaga Division. arrested and detained suspects.
“The suspects reportedly broke into a residence within Brighter area when the occupants were not around.
“They broke into the house through the window and stole one 35” Plasma TV and a remote control device, and two aluminium pots.
“The items were concealed in sack bags, but the suspects were later arrested with the help of the community members.
“Meanwhile, they are under investigation in Chanchaga Division.
“They will be arraigned in court for prosecution as soon as possible,”he said.
In another development, he said the command also recovered fifty stolen sheep and arrested the suspect in Kontagora area of the state.
“On April 27, at about 0900 hours, Police operatives attached to ‘B’ Division. Kontagora with vigilante members arrested the suspect from Gengi village, with suspected fifty stolen sheep.
“During interrogation, he confessed that himself and one his accomplice now at large, stole the animals from Yangalu village in Magama Local Government Area,”he said.
He said,” efforts are ongoing to arrest the other suspect at large as the cattle rustling was under investigation.
