Oyo Deputy Governor, Olaniyan Dispels Rumour of Leaving PDP

The Deputy Governor of Oyo state, Engineer Rauf Olaniyan, has dispelled a rumour that he is making moves to leave the People’s Democratic Party.

The Deputy Governor who described the peddler(s) of the rumour as mischief makers said he remains a bonafide, card carrying member of the PDP.

The Deputy Governor reacted to the rumour in a statement in Ibadan on Tuesday.

The statement reads, “The attention of Oyo State Deputy Governor, His Excellency Engr Rauf Aderemi Olaniyan has been drawn to a rumour making the rounds in an online tabloid, on 4th April 2022, that the Oyo Deputy Governor and other PDP stakeholders are set to dump PDP for NNPP.

“We wish to state that the purported news item has no credibility of any sort and it is a mere conjecture with no compelling basis.

“For the records, the Deputy Governor remains an active member of PDP and he has not, at any material time, conceived or taken step to join any party known as NNPP…”
