A formal governor of Anambra state, Chief Willie Obiano has commiserated with the government, the state assembly and the family of late Majority Leader, Nnamdi Okafor, who passed away during a duty tour to South Africa.

A trained Pharmacist, Okafor was among the state legislators who went for a retreat in South Africa, where he slumped and died.

Obiano in a statement signed by a media aide, Mr Tony Nezianya said “For love, of state and country Hon. Okafor left a thriving pharmaceutical job in the US in 2015 to explore what he can do to uplift his Awka 1 Constituency in the state assembly.

“An active lawmaker was the majority leader in the House and has been contributing to the growth of the legislature and participating in robust debates in the House.

“I console Gov. Chukwuma Soludo, Hon Uche Okafor (the Speaker), members of the House, his constituency and his immediate family over his demise.

“This is a vocal lawmaker, who is certain will be missed in the assembly,” Obiano said.
