NCS Hands Over 1,037 Parcels Of Cannabis Sativa To NDLEA In Ogun

News Investigators/ The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Ogun 1 Area Command, has seized over 1,037 parcels of Cannabis Sativa in different locations in the state.

The Area Comptroller, Godwin Otunla, made the disclosure at the handing over of the drugs to Olaniyi Ekudayo, Commander, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Idiroko Special Area Command, at Idi – Iroko on Thursday.

Mr Otunla lauded the gallant officers of the NCS for their relentless commitment that enabled the interception and seizure of  of the narcotics

“I wonder what would have happened and the effects on our youths if this cannabis sativa had gotten into the society,” he said.

Mr Otunla said that most criminal activities in the country were due to the consumption of drugs like cannabis sativa by the youths.

The area comptroller admonished those engaged in such nefarious act to desist and turn a new life by embracing legitimate business.

In his response, Mr Ekudayo, applauded the resilience of the personnel of the NCS, Ogun 1 Area Command for the seizure.

He said that the seizure was a testament to the synergy between Customs, NDLEA and other sister agencies.

Mr Ekudayo assured of the agency’s resolve to continue to cooperate with the NCS, other relevant agencies and all stakeholders in the fight against the menace of drug abuse in the country.
