A  Pastor of Living Faith Church Wurukum in Makurdi, Benue State capital, Dr. Emmanuel  Tile Aime narrowly escaped death, on Wednesday, when he was beaten to a pulp by mob for the alleged disappearance of the genital of a young man.

Pastor, Identified  Tile Aime who is also a senior lecturer with the Akawe Torkula Polytechnic Makurdi, was tortured and stripped naked and beaten up, as he was responding to interrogation from passersby.

It was gathered that a young man had, raised an alarm accusing the pastor of snatching his genitals after he was preached to.

The eye witness stated that the alarm immediately attracted the attention of passers-by and those in and around the commercial banks located in the new Otukpo Road who surrounded the suspect and beat him up to a coma.

The eye witness who identified himself as Tergun Chia, said the victim came out of one of the banks and was walking towards main road to pick a bike when the suspect(Pastor Aime) had a body contact with him and quickly realized that his organs had disappeared.

“The young man then, raised an alarm accusing the pastor of snatching his genitals. The alarm attracted the attention of passers-by  who descended on the suspect and beat him up.

“Despite the beating, the pastor insisted he is innocent, and knew nothing about what the young man was talking about.

“The  man was only preaching and evangelizing close to the bank. Suddenly, a boy he prayed for started shouting that the Dr Aime has stolen his penis and would have been lynched if not through the intervention of the security personnel who were passing by.

“The living faith pastor would have been killed but for the timely intervention of the police personnel  from “E” Division who whisked him to the ‘E” Division Police Station.

When contacted the Benue State Command Police Public Pelations Officer, SP Catherine Anene, confirmed the incident but could not confirm whether the Pastor (Aime) stole the organs.

The Police Spokesman condemned the actions of the mob.
