MAKINDE RE-ELECTED IN OYO

The Independent National Electoral Commission has declared the Governor of Oyo State and candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Seyi Makinde, as the winner of Saturday Gubernatorial election in the State.

Makinde polled 563,756 votes to defeat his closest rival, Teslim Folarin, of All Progressive Congress who polled 256,685 votes.

The Candidate of the Accord Party Adebayo Adelabu of Accord Party came third with 38,357 votes.

Makinde won in 31 out of the 33 Local Government Areas of the 33 LGAs of the state.

The state Returning Officer, Olusola Kehinde, therefore returned Makinde as the winner of the election.

“That Makinde Oluseyi having satisfied the requirement of the law is declared winner of the poll,”  he said
