The Labour Party on Saturday celebrated the defection of the political godfather of the All Progressives Congress in Cross Rivers State, Senator MT Mbu, to the Labour Party
The Head, Media, lOni-Datti Presidential Campaign Council, Diran Onifade, described the defection as a major boost for the Labour Party in the state.
The statement added that Senator Mbu was instrumental to the defection of the state Governor, Ben Ayade from the Peoples Democratic Party to the APC.
Onifade explained that the Senator decided to join the LP because of his conviction that the party is the one that can ensure restoration of peace, unity and progress in the country.
“Senator Mbu who was the unifier-in-Chief for the crisis-ridden APC in the state and who was the architect of Governor Ben Ayade leaving PDP for APC says he is now Obidient.
“Obi-Datti media gathered that Sen Mbu said he was joining the Obidient movement because it’s becoming very obvious that they are the only ones who can restore the much-needed peace, unity, and progress In Nigeria.
“The distinguished Senator also believes that the Obidatti team is the only one that can restore a bright future for the Nigerian youths who are indeed the future of any and the Nation Rests on.
“Obi-Datti media notes that Sen. Mbu is a big addition to the growing Obiidient movement because he has a huge following, and members of his APC cadre are likely to come with him into the Obidient Fold.
“Obi-Datti, therefore welcomes the distinguished Senator and calls on all other lovers of a new Nigeria to join in taking back Nigeria for the much-needed rebuilding.”
