News Investigators/ A young entrepreneur and innovator, Zang Luka, has set up a recycling factory to produce power banks, phone chargers, solar lanterns, among others items in Plateau.
Mr Luka disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Sunday in Jos.
He explained that his firm, Zang Global, is designed to solve indigenous problems by recycling electronic waste to build sustainable products.
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO), explained that his company would not only create over 15,000 jobs across Africa, but aimed at ensuring environmental sustainability.
“Zang Global is more than a technology company, we are also champions of environmental sustainability.
“As part of our mission on climate change, we have expanded into waste cable recycling, converting discarded cables into valuable copper granules.
“This innovation discourages the burning of cables, which has been a major source of pollution and constitute health risks.
“Currently, we produce made-in-Nigeria USB cables, mobile phone chargers, power banks, among other accessories,”he said.
Mr Luka explained that his company is committed to building technology solutions that would be indigenous and sustainable.
He said that 70 per cent of the raw material used by the firm for production are sourced locally, largely condemned electric wastes.
Mr Luka called on Nigerians to take their electric wastes to his company to be recycled, rather than dispose of them anyhow, thereby causing environmental problems.
He called for government’s support and partnership towards the growth and success of his company in tackling.
