BANDITS KIDNAP CATHOLIC PRIEST IN JOS

The Chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, in Plateau State on Monday confirmed the abduction on Sunday night, the Catholic priest of St Anthony’s Parish, Angware community in the Jos East Local Government Area of Plateau State, Rev James Kantoma.

The chairman of CAN in the state, Polycarp Lubo, said the Catholic priest was kidnapped by gunmen describing the incident as a sad one.

According to him, the abductors were yet to reach out to St Anthony’s Parish, Angware community in the Jos East Local Government Area of Plateau State or to anyone.

It was gathered that the Rev. Father, Kantoma, who doubles is the Chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria in the council area, was kidnapped on Sunday night.

The Network gathered that the bandits went to the priest’s house immediately they invaded the community and whisked the Reverend Father away.

Efforts by the youths of the community to rescue the victim wasn’t successful despite chasing the bandits into the forest. However, they retreated when the bandits started shooting sporadically before disappearing with the Reverend Father.
