Zamfara ADC Stakeholders Woo Sen. Marafa

News Investigators/ The political atmosphere of Zamfara has taken another dimension as top leaders of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the state stormed the Secretariat of the Kabiru Marafa Political Forum and delivered a special message, begging the Senator to join the party.

This is contained in a statement issued in Gusau on Thursday signed by Mannir Bature, Secretary, Sen. Kabiru Marafa Consultative Forum.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that following the visit, Marafa, who resigned from his former party, the APC, may join the ADC and contest for the Zamfara governorship race under the platform of the party.

According to Mr Bature, major stakeholders of the ADC at the visit included Alhaji Jafaru Lawali-Gusau, Dr Ahmad Hashim, ADC’s 2023 Gubernatorial candidate, Dr Abubakar Muhammad and Auwal Imam, among other senior figures of the party..

He quoted the members of the delegation as saying, “We want Sen. Marafa in ADC.

“Many political observers could  described the ADC high-powered delegation wooing Sen. Marafa as a bold political move in Zamfara.

“Majority of the political intellectuals  cited his unmatched political pedigree, mass popularity, and decades-long reputation as the uncompromising voice of the voiceless,” Bature said.

According to him, during the visit, the ADC leaders praised Marafa by calling him a “Man of Integrity,” a “Man of the People,” and a “Fearless Voice of the Voiceless,”.

“Marafa’s brand of politics is rooted in justice, honesty, and public accountability which perfectly aligns with the soul of the party,” he added.

The ADCs delegation was received by the Chairman of the forum, Abubakar Gora, and a gathering of political loyalists drawn from the various structures that make up the Marafa political family.

Gora, in his remarks, commended the ADC for the visit, saying that the gesture reflects Marafa’s enduring political relevance and the respect he commands across party divides.

“He assured the delegation that their request would be faithfully conveyed to Sen. Marafa for his consideration.

“The meeting ended on a cordial note, with both sides emphasising the need for political alliances grounded in integrity, shared values, and an unwavering commitment to the welfare of the people of Zamfara,” Bature explained. (NAN
