Former Rivers State Governor and now Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, on Monday, took the mantle of leadership as the new minister of the FCT, after the swearing in of the 45 ministers by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Wike, who recieved loud applause at the State House Banquet, promised to hit the ground running immediately he took the oath of office to officially commence work as Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.

The ex-governor of Rivers State assured of a new Abuja insisting that he would be a field minister instead of sitting office Minister.

“I am not a sitting office minister. If you work with us, you will enjoy this administration. If you don’t want to work with us you will not enjoy this administration.

“You will see a different Abuja now.” Wike assured.

Wike said land allottees who built houses in wring places should expect them to go down.

He also said that those who have been given certificates of occupancy but did not develop their plots would lose them.

“If you know you have built where you are not supposed to build, it will go down”, he said.

The swearing in event was attended by Vice-President Kashim Shettima, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and Speaker of the House Representatives, Tajudeen Abass.

Also at the ceremony was Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume and Chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum and Kwara Governor, Abdulaziz Abdulrahman.
