Woman Dies In Lagos Building Collapse

The  Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), on Thursday, confirmed the death of an unidentified elderly woman in an early morning building collapsed at Oloto Street by Borno Way, off Freeman Street, Oyingbo, Lagos State.

The Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Oke-Osanyintolu, in a statement on Thursday,  said the incident occurred around 7:45 am.

Oke-Osanyintolu said no other person sustained injury in the building collapse.

 He said that the deceased was an elderly woman who is yet to be identified.

He further stressed that search operation are still ongoing at the site while the place has been cordoned off.

“Unfortunately, an old woman died from the impact of the partial collapse. The search and rescue operation is still ongoing

“In attendance are officials of LASEMA Response Team, LRU Paramedics, Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, and LASAMBUS.

“The building has been cordoned off and officials of the Lagos State Building Control Agency ( LABCA) has been contacted,” he added.
