…. CALLS FOR CALM IN SOUTH-EAST
The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, on Tuesday, granted an interview after one year of detention by the security agencies.
Justice Binta Nyako of an Abuja Federal High Court dismissed his bail application on the grounds that he failed to convince he court why he must be granted bail, while describing it as abuse of legal process.
But in his reaction Kanu said that the judges rejection of his bail application was ‘expected’.
However, the IPOB leader appealed to the people of the South-East to “remain calm” and make the zone peaceful.
“It is what we expect. But I want our people to be very calm. I want Biafra land to be calm and very peaceful.
“We are fighting to defend our people, not to kill them!
We are fighting to defend them, that’s why I’m here. And we will continue to do so until we get victory.” He stated.
